Welcome to Goodwill Hunting!
Goodwill Hunting is a curated collection of pre-loved fashion finds.
Each edition will include 3 products to shop, 3 articles to read, and 3 jobs related to circular fashion.
Why Goodwill?
For over 10 years, I haven’t purchased any new clothing unless it was vintage, secondhand, thrifted, swapped, self-sewn, or certified ethically made. An ideal weekend afternoon is listening to a Business of Fashion podcast while sorting through hidden gems at Goodwill IRL or online at Vestiaire, Poshmark, Etsy, TheRealReal, etc.
Why Hunting?
I believe that the future of fashion is more circular, virtual, and meaningful. We are living our lives online more than ever before, and yet we crave fewer, better things that bring purpose and beauty into our lives. Within the next decade, resale fashion will be bigger than fast fashion as consumers increasingly make secondhand first choice. But not all consumers love hunting and algorithms are imperfect discovery tools, so let me do the curation for you!
Why Goodwill Hunting?
The Oscar-winning film Good Will Hunting came out when I was in elementary school. It was around the same time that I purchased my first secondhand item by myself at our local consignment shop. I viscerally recall counting my allowance money on the glass countertop, separating quarters from pennies to purchase a pair of knee-high, patent leather boots for my Baby Spice-obsessed BFF. Yes, I’m a Millennial. And no, I’m not ok with Y2K fashion making a comeback.
The mission of Goodwill Hunting is to make shopping consciously more curated, social, and fun.
